From FOOD, DRINK & DINING OUT Kent Beer Festival
21 July - 23 July Merton Farm, Canterbury, Kent. This three-day event is the second-oldest Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) beer festival in England.

It is held in a barn deep in the heart of Kentish brewing country. The Festival features over 100 real ales; there are ten local Kentish breweries represented, and over 40 breweries from all over the UK. There is a special cider bar, offering such notable local ciders as Crippledick, Double Vision and Rough Old Wife. Over 100 draught and bottled beers from all over the world are also featured.

On the Thursday and Friday evenings there is musical entertainment, while on Saturday there is a range of entertainment all day - music, Morris dancing and children's entertainment.

On entering the Festival you purchase a glass and tokens (no further money exchanges hands). Both can be exchanged for cash at the end of the festivities. Food stalls around the barn (which take cash not tokens) offer curry, hot snacks and local cheeses.
