In June 2009, the Department of Health brought together patients, third sector representatives, clinicians and managers to look at the role that Patient and Public Engagement (PPE) is already playing in shaping and improving services. PPE is an approach that puts the people who use services at the heart of care and involves understanding their experience of services, empowering them to make decisions and involving them in the design and delivery of care. The Department of Health has now issued a document outlining the emerging vision for PPE, what it means and the role it can play in driving up the efficiency, quality and productivity of services.Click for Full Details: www.dh.gov.uk
