The National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) has published strengthened guidelines for NHS organizations in England and Wales on Being Open - a set of principles that healthcare staff should use when communicating with patients, their families and carers following harm.The new framework is a best practice guide for all healthcare staff, including boards, clinicians and Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS).
