Click for Full Details: www.dh.gov.ukThe Department of Health has published new guidance Start Smart - Then Focus which will help hospital prescribers ensure best practice is followed on antimicrobial prescribing for patients.
It will help ensure patients receive the right drug, at the right time, at the right dose and the right duration for the individual – avoiding unnecessary lengthy duration of antibiotic treatment and inappropriate use of broad-spectrum antibiotics.
The guidance has been produced by the Department of Health’s Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI).
